1 John – The Doctrine of Fellowship with God

1 John was one of the Apostle John’s letters written late in his life.  John addresses his audience who were believers.  He exhorts them to live in light of the truth of who God is, and in love.  He further exhorts them to reject any teaching or form of knowledge which denied the humanity and deity of Jesus Christ.  In order to enter relationship and fellowship with God one must believe in the one who was from the beginning.
John and the other apostles had intimate fellowship with Jesus Christ and wrote so that all believers can enjoy that same fellowship with the Father, Son, the Holy Spirit, and believers.
