Finding strength
in the Lord

"I will lift up my eyes to the mountains: from where shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth"
Psalm 121:1-2

Welcome

And let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.

-Hebrews 10:25

Our Purpose

The purpose of the Church is to glorify God on the earth by making disciples out of lost men through evangelism and teaching believers the word of God so they may be spiritually self-sustaining, and grow to spiritual maturity. We seek then to equip the believer for local church ministry and missionary work.

“Until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man to me measure of the stature
which belongs to the fullness of
 – Christ.” Ephesians 4:13

Philippians – The Mind of Christ:

Philippians is among the group of texts called the prison epistles. The Prison
Epistles are a group of letters (Colossians, Ephesians, Philemon, and
Philippians) written during Paul’s first captivity in Rome in AD. 61-63.
Philippians was a letter sent to a church in Europe. It is like a personal
letter to a church that was Paul’s biggest supporters, and a church he was
most thankful for. In this letter Paul reveals his character and the character
of the church at Philippi and reveals the mind for inner happiness.
The Spiritual life is a Christlike life. It is joyful, devout, powerful, unique,
restful, steadfast, peaceful, and energetic because of the energizer, the
Holy Spirit.

Joy and humility are the product of being control by the Holy Spriit of God
and thinking like Christ (Gal. 5:22). Thinking like Jesus Christ gives
contentment and gratitude in suffering as the believer trust in the
faithfulness of God. It this epistle Christ mind had become Paul’s mind, so
Christ joy seems to be Paul’s joy, and he encourages these believers to
share in that joy.

Joy is a normal condition when the believer is under the control of the Holy
Spirit, and Christ mind is their mind.
If there is such a thing as a perfect church, it is said that the Phillians
church was that church. Please Join us down the road to inner happiness
as we do a verse-by-verse study of Paul’s epistle to the Philippians.

What to Expect

Healthy Bible Teaching
The Bible is the Word of God in its original manuscript and without error. It has the final authority in all matters of faith and practice. At Grace Bible you will get the Word of God not the word of men. The Bible alone has the power to change lives and give hope to all men.

Grace Oriented Believers
Grace orientation is the mental attitude of the believer who recognize that everything he is and has is a result of God’s grace. Our attitude is total reliance on God. He provides the power for fulfilling His plan, and without His grace provision the believer will not survive in Satan’s world. Believers at Grace Bible seek to reflect God’s grace in everything we do. Grace is the basis of our conduct, meaning we desire to demonstrate sensitivity, and tolerance toward the weakness of others (Eph. 4:31-32, 1 Peter 5:5).
